Joe Gauthreaux reveals biggest lesson learned in his career
(07.03.19) – MICHAEL COOK – In the lexicon of DJ’s and Remixers, Joe Gauthreaux is in a class of his own. From headlining Winter Party, New Year’s Rio & numerous Atlantis Cruises to spinning everywhere from Brazil to Asia, it would seem that this mixmaster has accomplished virtually everything that he has wanted to. Thankfully for dance floors worldwide, Gauthreaux continues to elevate his game and has recently worked on mixes (with his production partner DJ Lean) on everyone from Diana Ross to Keala Settle to his upcoming work with Inaya Day. As he gets ready to land in Rehoboth Beach, DE to spin at Diego’s Hideaway on July 6th, I caught up with him to talk his career path and how he got where he is, what it is like working on music for the icons, and he gave me a sneak peek at some of the amazing music he has coming up.

A message from Joe Gauthreaux
(03.10.19) – Dear Friends,
I am writing to you today because something has recently rattled me to my core, and I feel like I must share it with you. I’m sure by now a lot of you have heard about or watched, the 2 part documentary “Leaving Neverland,” on HBO. It’s about two boys, Wade Robson & Jimmy Safechuck, who as 7 & 10-year-old boys, respectively, were sexually molested by Michael Jackson. It took me about 3 days to get through all 4 hours because I had to keep stopping it, as it really disturbed me. The details of the abuse were so gut-wrenching and heartbreaking, it literally made me sick to my stomach.

Gauthreaux’s label “Prop D” is a Billboard Top 10 Dance Imprint!
(12.16.17) – Joe Gauthreaux’s record label, Prop D Recordings, has landed at the #10 spot on Billboard’s year end list of Top Dance Imprints. Other labels in the top ten include major and iconic brands such as Atlantic, RCA, Warner Bros., & Capitol. This is of course a MAJOR achievement, given the company Prop D is in. This year was a record year for the label (pardon the pun), releasing the Brian Justin Crum Billboard #2 hit, “Show Me Love,” with DJ GRIND & Toy Armada. Gauthreaux also released his #3 Billboard charting “The Urge in Me” with legendary Inaya Day. For a full list of releases, you can view Prop D’s page on Beatport.com.
Additionally, Gauthreaux has produced remixes for 2 of the songs in the Billboard Year End Dance Clubs Chart. At #10 is the formerly mentioned “Show Me Love” by Brian Justin Crum featuring Toy Armada & DJ Grind, where Gauthreaux contributed a funky house meets big room beats remix. And working with DJ Leanh, Gauthreaux contributed the big room banging remix of “Your Song” by Rita Ora, which comes in at #5 on the year end chart. Both remixes are available for listening in the music section of www.DJJoeG.com.
Congratulations to Joe, and all the other artists for a stellar 2017. Look for more original music and remixes in 2018!!
Happy New Year! – Team Joe
