A message from Joe Gauthreaux
(03.10.19) – Dear Friends,
I am writing to you today because something has recently rattled me to my core, and I feel like I must share it with you. I’m sure by now a lot of you have heard about or watched, the 2 part documentary “Leaving Neverland,” on HBO. It’s about two boys, Wade Robson & Jimmy Safechuck, who as 7 & 10-year-old boys, respectively, were sexually molested by Michael Jackson. It took me about 3 days to get through all 4 hours because I had to keep stopping it, as it really disturbed me. The details of the abuse were so gut-wrenching and heartbreaking, it literally made me sick to my stomach.

Gauthreaux’s label “Prop D” is a Billboard Top 10 Dance Imprint!
(12.16.17) – Joe Gauthreaux’s record label, Prop D Recordings, has landed at the #10 spot on Billboard’s year end list of Top Dance Imprints. Other labels in the top ten include major and iconic brands such as Atlantic, RCA, Warner Bros., & Capitol. This is of course a MAJOR achievement, given the company Prop D is in. This year was a record year for the label (pardon the pun), releasing the Brian Justin Crum Billboard #2 hit, “Show Me Love,” with DJ GRIND & Toy Armada. Gauthreaux also released his #3 Billboard charting “The Urge in Me” with legendary Inaya Day. For a full list of releases, you can view Prop D’s page on Beatport.com.
Additionally, Gauthreaux has produced remixes for 2 of the songs in the Billboard Year End Dance Clubs Chart. At #10 is the formerly mentioned “Show Me Love” by Brian Justin Crum featuring Toy Armada & DJ Grind, where Gauthreaux contributed a funky house meets big room beats remix. And working with DJ Leanh, Gauthreaux contributed the big room banging remix of “Your Song” by Rita Ora, which comes in at #5 on the year end chart. Both remixes are available for listening in the music section of www.DJJoeG.com.
Congratulations to Joe, and all the other artists for a stellar 2017. Look for more original music and remixes in 2018!!
Happy New Year! – Team Joe
Joe Gauthreaux & Leanh remix the legendary Diana Ross!
(11.18.17) – Michael Cook – Something about the name Diana Ross simply is magical. This icon has had massive success thanks to her timeless and vast musical catalog, with a number of her tracks being remixed for the dance floor. In the hands of Joe Gauthreaux and DJ Leanh, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” is a certifiable anthem for 2017, already on the Billboard Hot Shot chart at #38! I had a chat with Joe Gauthreaux about the path to remixing this track, what it’s like bringing a disco classic onto the dance floor for the next generation, and what it’s like remixing and getting the blessing from Miss Ross herself.
Splashing Through Summer…
(08.23.17) – Michael Cook – There is nothing better than a remake of a classic, courtesy of Joe Gauthreaux, DJ Grind, and the incomparable Inaya Day. Turning out a luscious remake of John Paul Young’s 70’s classic “Love Is in The Air” is exactly what the community could use, especially after just celebrating one of our most meaningful Pride months in recent memory. Crafting this classic as a high-energy dance anthem presented challenges, but in the hands of Gauthreaux & Grind, it’s a smashing success. Inaya Day putting her signature soaring vocals on this one makes it immediate dance floor hit, especially with the absolutely epic hands in the air chorus. What makes this track even more meaningful is the fact that 100% of the proceeds are being donated to The Trevor Project, which offers lifesaving crisis intervention, and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ youth. Hit up iTunes and grab a copy to donate to a truly worthy cause, and get some fantastic music on top of it!
